Our Team & Founder
Digi Mula was born out of frustration, passion, and a deep love for the progression of Hip-Hop.
Our founder — of Japanese descent — began their journey in Los Angeles as a young intern at a major music label. While it seemed like a dream at first, the experience revealed the darker side of the industry: manufactured artists, forced narratives, and a lack of genuine creativity. As the world shut down during the COVID-19 pandemic, they returned to Japan — disillusioned but not defeated.
Back home, they discovered something powerful: a vibrant underground Hip-Hop movement alive with raw energy, untapped talent, and fearless originality. But it wasn’t just Japan. Their curiosity grew, leading them to uncover similarly thriving scenes across Brazil, the U.K., America, and beyond — all filled with artists overlooked by the mainstream.
Fueled by that global vision, they built Digi Mula — and with it, a team of multi-cultural creators: Asian, Hispanic, and African American tastemakers and visionaries who live and breathe the culture.
Together, we created Digi Mula as a global platform for real artists — those with the hunger, the voice, and the spirit to lead the new wave of Hip-Hop.
